Lilliana Porter (b. 1941) is an Argentinian artist currently living in New York. Porter works across a range of media including printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture. To Tell the Truth (2003) is an example Porter’s use of porcelain figurines, children’s toys and other kitsch objects paced in surreal compositions. These works hint at the absurd, revealing a wry sense of humour akin one of her major influences, Rene Magritte.
