Description
Nicholas Africano (b. 1948) is an American contemporary artist who work draws upon historical references with his personal experiences in order to examine the human condition. He is associated with the New Image artists such as Susan Rothenberg, Robert Longo, and Neil Jenny. Study for Grandmother Diptych is characteristic of Africano’s eclectic use of materials, in particular casting in glass, and for his sketchy painting style
