Description
William Ronald (1926 – 1998) is best known as the founder of the influential Canadian art group based in Toronto, the Painters Eleven, exhibiting with them in Toronto from 1953 – 1955 and in New York in 1956. While in New York, Ronald joined the stable at Kootz Gallery in Manhattan, enjoying a multi-yeared success, eventually moving back to Toronto. Untitled from 1959 is an excellent rare example of Ronald’s work from the 1950s.
