Description
Born in 1945, Pierre-Luc Lessard attended the Fine Arts school in Quebec City. As both an artist and industrial designer, Lessard has been involved in the Montreal visual arts community since the 1960s. The son of a Quebec City architect, Lessard was introduced to design at an early age. Later, as an industrial design student in Montreal, he was asked by a local firm to work on Expo 67 signage. Over the years, he formed the design firms of ARC Morin, Lessard and McGinnis, and Axion Design. Together with his associates, he worked on corporate identity and signage for CN and Via Rail, Bell, Petro Canada, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Mont Tremblant. He was also involved in producing the signage for 1976 Montreal Olympics. He exhibited at the Galerie Christin in Quebec during the 80's and then in Toronto. Lessard is a member of the Royal Academy of the Arts (RCA), elected in 1996.
