Bio: Eric Fischl (B. 1948) is one of the most well-known contemporary Neo-expressionist American artists. His paintings, sculptures, and printmaking often depict both the mundane, darker (and sometimes provocative), undertones of American suburbia. “The Beach” 1987 is part of Fischl’s beach series of etchings of nudes and figurative works. They are exquisite examples of his experimental artistic nature, and relate strongly to his beach photography and his pinned mylar works. His works can be seen in collections and museums all over the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The National Gallery, and MoMA.
