The lyrical paintings of Montreal-based artist John Fox (1927-2008) are held in many private, corporate and public collections including the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the MacKenzie Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Museum London, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Canada, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. This canvas from 1974 reveals his love of the light and architecture of Venice where Fox spent much time throughout his career.
